The music of Jamaica is unlike any other music of the Caribbean Islands. Although most Caribbean music began with Jazz, Jamaica and Bob Marley specifically, took a turn to create their own style of music. Reggae was this turn. Unlike the Bahama's, Jamaican music uses more bongos, while Bahamian music use drums and bells. Both derived from the traditional Caribbean music, but changed to have their own styles as time went on.
